The flagship of the Domaine de la Tête Noire, from the slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range
Gigondas are wines that are increasing in popularity after Chateauneuf-du-pape has become more and more expensive, and the style perhaps a little flat in the pursuit of Robert Parker points
Gigondas delivers the same quality but at half the price!
The wine is made from 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah, handpicked grapes, destemmed and macerated for 3 weeks. Then vinified in steel tanks for 12 months. before bottling.
In the glass, the wine is ruby red, with slightly brick-red curtains.
Aromas of plums, blackcurrants, cassis, garrique, tobacco, pepper and licorice.
in the taste you can feel cough drops, lots of berry fruit, coffee. The tannins are elegant, the wine has an elegant balance between fruit and acidity, and a long elegant finish with notes of pepper, cassis and black olives.
Serve at 16-18 degrees when you really want to impress, whether it's summer, winter, autumn or spring. The power in the wine needs some counterplay, so serve with fullness, fat and power.
Alcohol: 14%
