Feuerheerd's Colheita 2012 – Duoro, Portugal

The color is a beautiful deep amber with a slight orange tinge, which shows the age and development of the wine under the barrels. The nose is intense and inviting with complex aromas of dried fruit such as figs, prunes and cherries, along with spices such as cinnamon and a touch of vanilla. There are also notes of nuts and a little caramel, giving a round and luxurious scent profile.

The palate is full-bodied and well-balanced with a lovely sweetness balanced by a fine acidity. Dried fruit and spices continue on the palate, while the wine reveals nuances of roasted almonds and chocolate. The well-integrated tannins give the wine good structure and a long finish, which contains a touch of smoke and a little sweetness.
