Sparkling Riesling sounds really good around the world, and it certainly does in Oregon with the talented winemaker Ron Sanchez.
He manages to retain Riesling's razor-sharp acidity along with an incredibly complex and wide range of lightly fermented notes, apples and white peach. The mousse is airy, persistent and has a fantastic mouthfeel which develops over time.
The grapes come from selected fields in the Willamette Valley, which are vinified at Domaine Verdant's own winery.
