🍇 Wine with soul and steep slopes – Visit to Weingut Boujong in Brauneberg 🍷

Just outside the charming wine town of Brauneberg, where the Moselle River meanders peacefully through the landscape, you will find Weingut Boujong – a family-owned winery with roots dating back to 1760. Not only is wine grown here – it is also about history, passion and a deep respect for terroir.

Since 2007, Birgit and Christian Boujong have been at the helm, carrying on the family's proud traditions with modern finesse and vinous precision. The winery's portfolio primarily includes elegant, clean and crisp Riesling wines - the classic Mosel grape variety - but also Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder) , Chardonnay , Rivaner and, not least, refined red Burgundies that surprise with both depth and finesse.

The vineyard’s 14 hectares are spread across three of the Mosel’s most sought-after vineyards: Klostergarten , Mandelgraben and the iconic Juffer . It’s world-class terroir – and when you see the steep vine-covered slopes and the characteristic blue slate, you immediately understand why the wines from here have so much character and minerality.

The picture above shows the dramatic slopes where the grapes are fighting their way forward – and it is this struggle that gives the wines their special nerve.

But wine is more than land and grapes. It's also people. And at Boujong you get it all – including meeting the winemaker himself, Christian. He is happy to welcome guests, either in the tasting room, on the terrace overlooking the vineyards – or right down in the cellar, where the magic happens. And once "Master" Christian starts telling stories from life as a winegrower, time flies. There's laughter, insight and a good sip in the glass – maybe even more.

If you are in the Mosel, Weingut Boujong should be a regular stop on your trip. Here you don't just experience wine – you taste the passion, history and landscape that has shaped it.
