Julien Chantreau Morgon "Corcelette" 2023 – Beaujolais, France

Julien Chantreau has been making wine in Beaujolais for 20 years and it must be said that he is becoming a name in the region, truly delivering top-class Morgon and Chiroubles wines. The vineyard is located right in the heart of the Chiroubles cru, one of the 10 crus in Beaujolais.
Julien has vineyards in both Morgon and Chiroubles, which together cover 7.5 hectares – it's not much, but it's enough to create world-class and authentic wine that we are eager to get on the shelves.

The wine comes from the Corcelette vineyard, located in Morgon. In the glass, the wine appears ruby ​​red and delicate, and you immediately want to take a sip. You are greeted by an irresistibly beautiful fruit on the nose, which is complemented by the classic Gamay acidity, with notes of freshly crushed raspberries, earth and a slight hint of licorice. Julien manages to get an extremely appealing freshness in the wine, which is accompanied by a fine chalky minerality… Just spot on.

The vinification naturally takes place via the traditional and classic semi-macération carbonique method with whole bunches and spontaneous fermentation (intracellular fermentation) – exactly as is characteristic of the Beaujolais region.
