Julien Chantreau has been making wine in Beaujolais for 20 years and it must be said that he is becoming a name in the region, truly delivering top-class Morgon and Chiroubles wines. The vineyard is located right in the heart of the Chiroubles cru, one of the 10 crus in Beaujolais.
Julien has vineyards in both Morgon and Chiroubles, which together cover 7.5 hectares – it's not much, but it's enough to create world-class and authentic wine that we are eager to get on the shelves.

This is not just a new cuvée from Julien Chantreau – it is his statement piece. Morgon “64” is a project with both soul and substance, and you can feel it from the first sip.

ONLY 1000 bottles of this gem have been made..

The name? It's a tribute to the plot and the year the vines were planted: 1964. We're talking Gamay from almost 60-year-old vines, planted in classic granite soil in the middle of Morgon – and the old roots give the wine both depth and character, without it losing the fresh pulse that Julien is known for.

The taste? Darker and more complex than his “Corcelette”. Here there are blackberries, dark cherries, a little shot of licorice and herbs – all wrapped in a silky texture with granite-like minerality. It has weight, but without being heavy. It is “ serious stuff” , but still super drinkable.
