Tezza Valpolicella Ripasso Valpantena Superiore 2022 – Veneto, Italy

This classic Ripasso from the Tezza family combines tradition and terroir in a classy way. The wine is made using the traditional "ripasso" method, where a fresh Valpolicella is fermented a second time on the grape skins from the house's Amarone - a technique that adds extra body, complexity and structure.

The grapes – primarily Corvina and Rondinella – come from the chalky soil of the Valpantena Valley, northeast of Verona. The 2022 vintage offers a nice balance between ripe fruit and freshness. The aroma is dominated by dark cherries, blackberries and dried spices, while the taste is round, warm and persistent with silky tannins and a light balsamic finish.
