Julien Chantreau Chiroubles "Javernand" 2023 – Beaujolais, France

Julien Chantreau has been making wine in Beaujolais for 20 years and it must be said that he is becoming a name in the region, truly delivering top-class Morgon and Chiroubles wines. The vineyard is located right in the heart of the Chiroubles cru, one of the 10 crus in Beaujolais.
Julien has vineyards in both Morgon and Chiroubles, which together cover 7.5 hectares – it's not much, but it's enough to create world-class and authentic wine that we are eager to get on the shelves.

Javernand is a single vineyard in Chiroubles, located high and cool, surrounded by forest and with lots of granite in the soil. This gives the wine an almost floating lightness, where the fruit is fresh and crisp – think wild strawberries, currants, a touch of herbs and flowers, wrapped in a vibrant acidity and almost no tannin.

The Ligeosm Morgen wine from Corcelette is naturally vinified via the traditional and classic semi-macération carbonique method with whole bunches and spontaneous fermentation (intracellular fermentation) – exactly as is characteristic of the Beaujolais region.
