"Ried Geyer" is one of the highest and steepest places in the otherwise quite harmonious vineyard area around Rust, but that is not the only special feature. The soil is also special - because the vineyard's Sauvignon vines grow here on a very permeable sandy soil with a high proportion of mineral primary rock.
Here, gneiss and slate dampen the growth force of the otherwise lush Sauvignon vines and ensure a spicy and long-lasting expression: Ripe yellow and white fruit on the nose, slightly spicy oak, floral and clearly herbal and vegetal aromas, nutty tones, a touch of tobacco and some mineral notes Ripe, juicy fruit with delicate smoky and nutty oak aroma, a touch of yeast such as, for example, as well as vegetal and floral aromas, firmer structure, very elegant acidity, good substance and persistence, noticeable mineral notes in the background, some grip, some depth, still very young, very good, firm finish with ripe juice, floral nuances and light oak notes.
