McClelland's Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an affordable entry into the distinctive smoky whiskies of the Islay region. The McClelland's brand was established in 1986 by Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd., which was founded in 1970 and later acquired by Japan's Suntory. McClelland's represents four of Scotland's most important whisky regions: Islay, Highland, Lowland and Speyside. Each of these expressions is designed to showcase the classic characteristics of each region.
The whisky is produced at Bowmore Distillery, one of the oldest distilleries on Islay, established in 1779. The distillery is known for its medium-to-high peated style and is located on the south-eastern shore of Loch Indaal.
